Simplicity…

Good morning!..As simplicity is the highest form of sophistication I was eager to post three of my most recent images as published in my FB artist page. It may or may not be a agreed upon by everyone but it is every artist’s obligation to search and capture the basic lines, the simple form once in a while, at least. A focus on minimalism enriches the heart they say. More to come in the near future, in the meantime please enjoy!

2014…

Good morning!…After a profound year of change and reflection for many, I welcome 2014 as the year of consolidation. To celebrate sometimes is to take a step forward, or simply to take a step, but celebrate at last. Change is inevitable and embracing it means treading on new waters, and learning to cope with new found confidence. Among some of my decisions (no pressure…lol!) I opted for launching a series of architectural black and white photographs; 10 to be exact. I had them critiqued, undertook minor corrections, and finally had them printed. Beautiful Baryta paper especially formulated for BW work…….intense blacks and exquisite whites, contrasts and subtle lines showing to the naked eye. I was pleased then, I am pleased now.

Below lie the works described. It is my plan to locate suitable gallery space to show them, Paris (where I reside) is my first choice, but a home is a home, and as told to me by friends and colleagues, no serious offer can or will be refused. I have had the fortunate luck to show in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles and Catanzaro (Italy) – what’s next? I don’t know, but confidence and perseverance will dictate the path, and trust will create the right partnership. Please enjoy, thank you for coming and, as it has become a necessary custom nowadays, all works are part of my domain and are thus copyrighted.

Dialog 7…

Good morning!!…It is November and it is raining in Paris. But life is beautiful and goes on, inevitably for some, graciously for others. All I know is that there are constants, such as the sun, the moon, etc. They are out there to see, to admire. To me it is architecture; I love the urban expressions, the lines, how the city shines in different lights according to the time of day. Below are some examples of Urban Dialog, please enjoy them as I do my passion.

Of Volumes and Glass…

Good morning!!…Two photographs I recently took have captured my heart……..and I don’t mean to say that my own work captures my heart, but as I always thrive to keep things simple, I think I achieved just that here. And therefore….yes, I am pleased. The first is of an 18 story building – a straight up looking view against one of the bottom glass panels, and my intention was to capture the ethereal quality of the scene. The day was right, the sun was there, no clouds to distract. I was ready to put my eye on the X. A friend and colleague of mine said of this same capture (and I think it serves to illustrate what I saw): “It’s like a hall of mirrors, where you don’t know which way is the right way up. The range of blues in this is stunning, particularly to the right of the image, it’s resoundingly Phantom of the Operaish in a way…the phantom historically created mirror traps…and this reminds me of it.”…..I love it when images evoke thoughts of this nature, and stir imagination. The second image is again, a very simple study of volumes and yes, again, glass is involved. In this case I had to resort to a black and white monochrome to make the said volumes stand out. I trust it worked…..yet you are the ultimate judge of that. Please enjoy!

Simple in black….and white

We are running out of March…..ugh. This week I brought with me a couple of Low-fi bw’s to present basic architectural lines……I love how contemporary architecture can give us such simple lines that seem to caress the space. I chose to convert them to black and white in order to allow the eye to focus on the lines, and emphasize the abstractness – do you agree?. I also love the grainy aspect…

The first one is called “Segmented…” (architectural abstract, 2011)

The second one is simply called ‘)/…’ (architectural lines, 2011)

Footnote: medium used, IPhone4 – I love it and it comes very handy when I’m not carrying my big SLR and opportunities come along.

Thank you for visiting!~
